CAEM’s Response to Industry and Member Needs: A Message from the President

Dear CAEM Members,

We understand that there's been no shortage of communications regarding the outbreak of COVID-19, which can lead to information overload, as well as induce a greater amount of anxiety and uncertainty. However, CAEM members are top of mind at this unprecedented time and we are committed to helping the industry navigate these challenging times.

During this time of uncertainty, we want to ensure CAEM members stay connected now more than ever. As such, we are pleased to share with you new resources to support you in navigating through these new challenges together.

In response to the communication we sent to members last week, we have heard your concerns and appreciate your commitment to the industry. In an effort to respond and create an easier way to communicate with other members, a discussion forum is now available on the CAEM website here. In order to participate in the discussion with fellow CAEM members, you will be required to login to your membership profile. We hope this space is of value to you and look forward to hearing your thoughts.

In addition, CAEM's Association Management Company, Redstone Agency Inc. hosted a digital round table on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Click here to access the recording. Several industry experts shared their expertise and answered questions on the following:

  • Force majeure
  • How to manage employees
  • Your venue contracts

CAEM encourages its members to refer to the COVID-19 resources available on Meetings Mean Business Canada's website here.

Lastly, as per Meetings Mean Business' press release, Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) has been postponed. However, on April 14, 2020, you can now join other industry leaders and peers in a 12-hour global broadcast to honour #GMID20. Click here for more information and to learn about how you can support in breaking the Guinness World Record for most participants in an online video conference! Come together to raise the collective voice of our industry.

Sincerely,

Catherine MacNutt, CAEM President
