Help CAEM Advocate for the Reopening of Exhibitions!

June 22, 2020

Last week, The CAEM Exposition Recovery Taskforce finalized the proposed “Canadian Exhibition Industry – Safe Reopening Guidelines”.  You can view the guidelines HERE, along with the follow-up letters that CAEM sent to each of the Provinces HERE.

CAEM has launched a new letter writing campaign, and WE NEED YOUR HELP reaching politicians in your Province, and explaining that the exhibition industry has a comprehensive plan and is committed to reopening safely and responsibly.

CAEM is advocating for a clear distinction between exhibitions and mass gatherings, and for government to review our Safe Reopening Guidelines.  We are ready to engage in meaningful dialogue with policymakers on how we can collaborate to reopen exhibitions safely in the fall.

Send your letter of support now and MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD.

IMPORTANT:

If you live or run shows in Alberta, please DO NOT participate in this letter writing campaign.  We are already in communication with the Ministry of Trade, Economic Development and Tourism and they have agreed to present our guidelines to Public Health and help us advocate for our industry.

Here are FOUR EASY actions to take IMMEDIATELY:

  1. Advocate individually to the member of provincial Parliament in the riding where you live. SUBMIT LETTER HERE.
  2. Advocate individually to the member of provincial Parliament in the riding(s) where your show(s) are located. SUBMIT LETTER HERE.
  3. Share this email with everyone in your professional network (employees, co-workers, colleagues and friends in the industry) and encourage them to participate.
  4. Share this link on all your social media channels and encourage everyone you know in the industry to join CAEM’s advocacy campaign.

IMPORTANT: This letter writing campaign is open to ALL individuals in the Canadian exposition industry, including both CAEM members and the industry at large. Whether you operate on the show management side of the business or you are a supplier to the industry, and whether you are a business owner or an individual employed in our industry, we encourage you to participate in this critical initiative and share the opportunity widely with others in the exhibition sector.

If you have any questions about this advocacy campaign, please contact the CAEM office by phone at 416-787-9377 or by email at info@caem.ca.
