Re-Opening the Exposition Industry: Lessons Learned

Over the course of the pandemic, CAEM has offered relevant, timely, and practical information to our members.  For our final webinar of 2021 we have gathered an experienced panel of industry leaders who will share their real-time, practical experiences planning and producing events over the course of the last few months.  They will share the challenges they faced, how they navigated the government-mandated restrictions in place, the lessons they learned and how they are applying those lessons to their upcoming events.

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has a discount offer available for global CEMs to attend the virtual/digital program for Expo! Expo! (December 7-9) and the virtual sessions are eligible for 3.5 recertification credits. 

Any global CEM (outside the U.S. who is not an IAEE member) can attend for the member price of $299 USD – the regular price for a non-member to attend is $499 USD.

The digital experience will include live streams of the Opening General Session, Day Two General Session and new Mobile Sessions, which highlight various exhibitors with in-booth presentations. Digital only attendees will have access to 30-minute pre-recorded presentations from professionals who will be live to answer questions during their sessions. Finally, the in-person Tech Theater sessions will be recorded and housed on the IAEE Expo! Expo! digital platform. 

You can register here.  You will be asked for your CEM member number to register and then you will complete the registration form.  At the end of the registration process you will see a Promo Code field where you will enter the code CEMVIRTUAL.  This will make your registration $299 USD and you will then be able to finalize your registration with payment.

Raindrops on Roses, is a social community, launched by Debbie van der Beek, president + publisher of both Ignite and Adrenalin magazine in November 2020. It was created for both fun and purpose. For fun, as a platform for individuals to connect, share, and support each other in a safe judgment-free environment. And for purpose, to provide complimentary education and skill development for individuals within the meeting and event industry.  Since its launch, the Raindrops on Roses community has grown quickly and currently has over 1200 members (760 on Facebook and 510 on Instagram) 

This bursary is available to CAEM members who have lost their job, been furloughed, or are dealing with reduced work hours or financial hardship due to the pandemic. CAEM is making two (2) $250 CDN bursaries available to members to assist in in achieving their CEM designation or CEM recertification.

CAEM and IAEE have an agreement in place until December 31,2021 whereby CAEM members may register for an online course at the reduced rate of $250 USD. The bursary may be used towards payment of one of these courses or it can be used to offset the cost of attending the virtual edition of Expo! Expo! CAEM is pleased to have the opportunity to co-host a Business Events Industry Reception along with Meetings Means Business Canada and Convention Centres of Canada on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5pm – 6:30pm.  This event is taking place the evening prior to the Tourism Industry Association of Canada's annual Tourism Congress and immediately following Meetings Means Business Canada's AGM.
