To highlight the impact of Canada’s business events sector, Meetings Mean Business Canada (MMBC) is leading a new initiative, Business Events in Action, giving Parliamentarians and key stakeholders a firsthand look at the economic and social benefits of conferences, tradeshows, exhibitions, and meetings.

The initiative launched with Minister Valdez (Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism) and MP Chi Nguyen visiting the Canadian Meetings + Events Expo (CMEE) on August 12. Produced by Newcom Media, CMEE provided a vibrant stage for the Minister and MP to tour the show floor, connect with industry leaders, and deliver remarks on the mainstage.

As an active member of MMBC, CAEM plays a key role in ensuring the tradeshow sector is represented as a vital part of Canada’s business events ecosystem.

Through this initiative, CAEM members now have the opportunity to get directly involved in industry advocacy! If you’re hosting a conference, tradeshow or exhibition that could be part of Business Events in Action, reach out directly to Bianca Kennedy – CAEM’s representative on the MMBC Board of Directors – to explore how your event can help demonstrate the impact of business events to MPs and policymakers.
